I actually ordered this to make a snuffle mat for my dog. It works great for this, not too stiff.

I bought this mat to go over a stainless steel grid to provide cushioning for delicate washables like crystal and bone china, and also to muffle the sounds of clanging pots and dishes. It works for my purpose and I like the simple design. I hate those mats with frou-frou designs that collect dirt. However, this is not the kind of mat you want to use by itself because it's flat and it sticks to your sink, and because there's no airspace in between, it collects hard-to-remove slime from embedded food and dirt. It also stains easily, so rinse it every time you use it so it doesn't hold the stain permanently. It's the nature of the material (silicone) to stain easily and until a better material is discovered, you'll just have to be judicious with cleaning it after every wash.

Nice product but too small for my sink. Cant seem to find extra, extra large mats! Received product in timely manner and was easy to order.
