Organize-It Spring Workshop Recap

Workshop1On Saturday, April 11th 2015, Organize-It hosted their Spring Workshop! The Spring Workshop was brought to life by the Organize-It closet design team and Professional Organizer, Karri Wilson from Mission Accomplished. The Closet Specialists, Mike Korenchuk and Marilyn Sclafani, highlighted the different closet designs, imperative closet functions, and what the Organize-It store can offer everybody. Karri Wilson then spoke on how to organize your closet and keep it organized in a process that works for you!

“There’s no ‘right way’ to organize your closet. You have to find the system that works for YOU!” Karri Wilson began her presentation encouraging the workshop attendees and organizing enthusiasts that everybody is capable of organization, but you have to first find the right process for you. Tips about hanging clothes and folding clothes came in handy. Karri Wilson even showed us how to fold a fitted bed sheet the proper way, now that balled up mess of a fitted bed sheet in our closet is no more!quick-tip-50

Everybody met in the Organize-It showroom at our Michigan retail location. We made our way through four different closet or storage systems. We began at the Classica closet and then made our way to the FreedomRail closets and finally to our pantry designs. After the presentation, Karri Wilson was on hand to answer your personal organizing challenges and give advice for the future. Three lucky attendees won Organize-It gift cards, and everybody received Organized Living swag.

The most important takeaway from the Spring workshop was to remember that you CAN organize. Finding the system that works for you may take some time, but trial and error is an important part of organizing. Once you’ve found that system, consistency is key! Hopefully the system will work well enough for you that it will not be difficult to keep up with. “Being organized saves you money. Since you’ll be able to find what you want when you need it, you will eliminate duplicate purchases,” stated Karri Wilson. Whether it be a storage solution for your home, or a new closet design, you will save money in the long run by having all of your personal items in order.
