update: no longer ""thrilled"" but fairly satisfied. description of the test: i put water into one of each of the sizes i purchased (1 c, 4.75 c, 6 c), put on the lids, ""burping"" each, then checked that no water was leaking when inverted. the 6 c container was leaking so i had to burp several corners and then it checked out not leaking. put all into the freezer overnight. this morning, thawed but did not adjust the lids at all. the 2 smaller sizes continued to be leak-free while the 6 c one did leak.
conclusion: these lids are not totally leak-proof. even when they are sealed so as to not leak, they do not inspire total confidence (the way clip and close and kinetic glasslock did)...they just feel like with any nudging the lid seal could be compromised. for example, i would not want to travel with one containing soup if there was any chance at all it could get turned over. they still work for me for all my reasons plus they are too heavy to return cheaply. i’m leaving it at 4 stars but that might be 3-something rounding up. another little bonus is that the sticker comes of very easily after soaking in water for a bit.
original review: maybe 4.5 stars. to everyone who has experienced a leaking problem (see reviews on amazon), you have to ""burp"" these just like the old tupperware. i’ve got 3 in the freezer with water in them now to see if they will ""stay burped"" and no leaking after thawing. (will come back with an update.) one slightly negative reaction: pay particular attention to the dimensions, especially if you’ve looked at loads of other 6-cup (for example) glass food storage containers. the lids on these are quite bulky so the overall size is larger than i expected. but i’m still thrilled with my selection. after a seemingly exhaustive search (clip and close, glasslock, on and on), i chose these because 1. the 4.75 c capacity was exactly what i wanted (36-38 oz) and no one else seemed to offer that size, 2. i wanted rectangular or square (round wastes so much space wherever it’s residing), 3. i wanted them to nest in the cupboard, and 4. i wanted shallow versus tall (possible to hold in one hand). the lime green was a bonus! :-) these AH containers are the only ones i found to meet all 4 requirements. maybe there’s another brand out there but i didn’t find it.
